With another 100 possibly facing charges as well.

Police made the arrests last week, resulting from over 400 undercover drug buys in the past 2 1/2 months, with most suspects being charged with only a couple of counts related to possession and sale of crack cocaine. It's a good start to Chief Rick Hansen's promise to take back the streets, and as many of the busts were probably made by new recruits 'cutting their teeth', it's a good start all around.

Chief Hansen shows he's got what it takes, promising to 'make downtown unpleasant for those who make downtown unpleasant'. With 62 officers being assigned the downtown beat full time starting May 27, - http://www.calgaryherald.com/entertainment/movie-guide/officers+added+downtown/1595393/story.html - Calgarians should see a marked reduction in the drug dealing and aggressive panhandling that blights the city center daily.
