9-11 Day of Service a Sad Joke

Canadians are going to commemorate a Terrorist Attack on our Way Of Life by picking up garbage in a local park, and talking about bullying with our grandchildren?  The '9-11 day of service legislation' is a sad joke, disguised as a way to 'increase awareness of what emergency services do every day'.  To have this legislation introduced by Julian Fantino, the 'Coward of Caledonia', was a double slap in the face.

9-11 is a day of mourning and remembrance.  Sure, by landing plane in Gander and taking stranded travellers into our homes we performed 'service'.  We did what we had to do when the attacks occurred, and we'd all it all over again.  But that shouldn't be the focus here.  What a bunch of misguided cowards we have for leaders.

"9/11 was a deliberate, carefully planned evil act of the long-waged war on the West by Koran-inspired soldiers of Allah around the world. They hated us before George W. Bush was in office. They hated us before Israel existed. And the avengers of the religion of perpetual outrage will keep hating us no matter how much we try to appease them."  Michelle Malkin

"We commemorate an act of war as a “tragic event,” and we retreat to equivocation, cultural self-loathing, and utterly fraudulent misrepresentation about the events of the day."  Mark Steyn

I'll be thinking of the victims on 9-11, and vowing revenge on the violent ideology of islam that killed them.  I'll also spend a day next week at the gun range practicing.  Know Your Enemy - Name Your Enemy.  In preparation there is remembrance.  Don Sharpe

The U.S. Jobless numbers came out today...

The recession officially started today.
Both here in Canada, where we officially had negative growth in the 2nd quarter . . ....

Shhhh . .... everyone is sleeping.  Quietly go out and buy canned food and ammunition - the currencies of the future!

Jack Layton - NDP warrior - R.I.P.

A real warrior would always want his death to mean something, Jack Layton was an affable warrior - he wasn't on my side, but he was consistent defending his ideals. His death has unfortunately been twisted into a mockery of real heroism by those members of both his party AND the Media Party who shared his version of the truth. His real legacy will be the exposure of his far-left colleagues for the lunatics they really are. PM Harper's motivation remains unclear, but may be no more complicated than just handing the NDP as much rope as they ask for, and then watching them hang themselves.

CBC refusing to name War Criminals
Dear Kirk LaPointe - CBC Ombudsman
Do I read this correctly? The CBC policy is not to name suspects, even when the list has been formally published on the Gov't of Canada website. So, Canada's national broadcaster is refusing to help the citizens of the Canada identify the criminals among them.
This is wrong on so many levels. Who do the people at the CBC think they are? This list, including pictures, of criminals is vital information that Canadians need - god help the decision makers at the CBC if someone comes to harm as a  result of this policy.

Subject: Re: CBC refusing to name War Criminals

Dear Mr. Sharpe:
I write to acknowledge receipt of your e-mail. It is the customary practice of CBC’s Office of the Ombudsman to share complaints with the relevant programmers, who have the right to respond first to criticism of their work. I have therefore shared your e-mail with Jennifer McGuire, General Manager and Editor in Chief of CBC News. If you are not satisfied with the response you receive you may ask me to review the matter. Programmers are asked to try to respond within twenty working days.
Sincerely,
Kirk LaPointe - CBC Ombudsman

Dear Mr. Sharpe:
Thank you for your e-mail of July 22 addressed to Kirk LaPointe, CBC Ombudsman, drawing our attention to a CBC News.ca story posted on July 21 under the headline, “Ottawa names war crimes suspects in Canada”. “CBC is refusing to help the citizens of Canada identify the criminals among [us]”, you wrote.

That is not the case, of course. Those named are not “criminals”, but “suspects”. Quite a different matter. The story prominently included a sentence that explained, “CBC News’ practice is not to name suspects and therefore is not publishing the names or photos of the suspects at this time.”

The story prominently included a sentence that explained, “CBC News’ practice is not to name suspects and therefore is not publishing the names or photos of the suspects at this time.”

The specific circumstances in stories usually differ, but the principle that practice is based on is the presumption of innocence. In this case, we had no information about the 30 men on the government list or the details of the crimes they were said to have committed – some dating back 20 years. We did not know who had accused them. Nor did we know what kind of evidence was gathered against them, who had gathered it or how credible it was. The provision of that basic information is part of the due process intended to protect the rights of an accused. It is a principle at the foundation of the Canadian judicial system.

But while CBC News decided not to include the men’s names or photographs (in common with other news media, including The Globe and Mail), we did prominently and repeatedly report the story on our broadcast news programs and in our Internet news pages. Those stories also carried a link to the government web site identifying the men.

In the succeeding days as the story evolved and we learned more information about some of those on the list, we carried stories that included their names and photographs. At the moment, I believe five of the men on the list have been arrested, charged and detained. CBC News has carried stories on each one of them.

Thank you for your e-mail. I hope my reply has reassured you of the continuing integrity of our news service.

It is also my responsibility to inform you that if you are not satisfied with this response, you may wish to submit the matter for review by the CBC Ombudsman. The Office of the Ombudsman, an independent and impartial body reporting directly to the President, is responsible for evaluating program compliance with the CBC's journalistic policies.
Sincerely,
Esther Enkin
Executive Editor - CBC News

Dear Ms. Enkin,
Thank you for your reply.
I've read it carefully and it appears we remain on opposite ends of this issue.
Your defence of the CBC 'practice' and splitting hairs over the validity of the accusations don't wash with me.
Further, Evan Solomon's condescending tone when interviewing Minister Vic Toews was painful to watch. Hard Q's are one thing, not the disrespect and disdain shown to this respectable MP.

I suggest you read the comments section on the 'My CBC is...' article on the CBC website.
http://www.cbc.ca/news/yourcommunity/2011/08/my-cbc-is.html
Wow, I'm not alone in believing the CBC is irresponsible and out of touch with Canadians.
I and apparently many others are hoping the days of an unaccountable CBC are numbered.

Friday, July 29, 2011

Here we go . . ...

We knew this attack was coming, and thank goodness
- this time we're prepared.
This is like every western & war movie standoff ever made, with the good guys knowing what was about to happen - loading their guns while getting food and more ammunition ready.

"Canadian Muslim group urges vigilance in wake of Norwegian massacre"
After 16,000 islamic terror attacks in the last 10 years, with daily beheadings, bombings, honor killings and foiled jihadi plots, in Canada and the U.S. (like the one yesterday in Fort Hood) these muslim clowns have the absolute unmitigated gall to 'say they feel like they're constantly in danger'.  As FFOF puts it, the only thing they're in danger of is somebody finally getting sick of their bullshit.

Mark Steyn's article 'The Left's strange hostility to Hirsi Ali' in Maclean's magazine echoed the same sentiment.   "In the Muslim world, Christians and Jews have been on the receiving end of a remorseless ethno-religious cleansing for decades. Christian churches get burned, along with their congregations, from Nigeria to Pakistan. Egypt is considering stripping men who marry Jewesses of their citizenship. Saudi Arabia won’t let ’em in the country. In the 1920s, Baghdad was 40 per cent Jewish. Gee, I wonder where they all went."

Where they all went was where all freedom loving people went for the last hundred years . ... WEST.  Now, in spite of the billions and billions of arab petro-dollars mulsims are fleeing the shitholes of the middle east - to go where?   WEST - but this time they're not interested in freedom, or starting their own businesses, or making a better life for their children.  They're hell bent on domination and destruction of Western Culture.

Tell me, just who in their right mind, muslim or not, would look on the mountains of evidence and decide that fascist islamic ideology hasn't been responsible for more pain, suffering and death over the past century than any other war or conflagration?  (I won't denigrate religions like Christianity or Buddhism by saying islam is a religion, it isn't - islam has more in common with communism and fascism than it has with any combination of religions).

It's like the slavery argument - there are those I've heard call slavery 'America's shame' - putting forth that the United States started a slavery trade that has lasted into the 21st century.  Again, what bullshit!  Slavery started long before Western Culture was ever conceived, in muslim countries - where it still exists today.

So don't tell me this 'Christian fanatic in Norway' was Christian, because he wasn't.  It's like comparing the pilot of an airplane with a terrorist on an airplane.  Sure, they're both on an airplane, but that's where the similarity ends.  The Calgary Herald shows horrendous irresponsibility for printing unchallenged the claims of the Canadian arm of the Council of American-Islamic Relations, an unindicted co-conspirator in a major money laundering case in the U.S.

As Michael Coren said on his blog, "The media's screaming claim that the Norway mass murderer is a Christian Fundamentalist is one of the most dishonest, irresponsible and mean examples of gutter journalism" - Michael couldn't be more right. Well, this time many more westerners are loaded and ready for a standoff.  NO, not with police, or muslims, or democracy - but murdering maniacs like Anders Behring Breivik and CCAIR thugs like Ihsaan Gardee.  Those two have far more in common with each other than either could ever hope to have with real 'Christian fundamentalists' or other freedom loving people anywhere in the world.

Each time idiots like Gardee open their mouths, they fool fewer and fewer people.  It's another reason to believe in free speech, allowing this muslim shill to spout his rhetoric until everyone has heard it - and comes to the conclusion that they'll no longer be misled by this cancer on our Western Culture.

Irshad Manji - Allah, Liberty and Love
Review: Non-fiction - Just what is an Islamic reformer?
BY QANTA AHMED - Globe and Mail

Thank goodness they're willing to share their brightness.
I just don't understand the point they're trying to make.

We live in the greatest culture in the world,
and every islamic country seems to be an oppressive shithole.
Why is it more complicated than that?

Thank goodness also for Free Speech!
Maybe I'll learn something,
maybe someday I'll figure it out.
My comments on the article

12:45 PM on June 26, 2011
I am that 'unsophisticated consumer' you speak of, an unrepentant islam-basher, who was looking forward to meeting the one person - Irshad Manji - who's writing on her islamic faith made sense to me. Her focus on individual accountability and moral courage you've ignored in your article.
'Intellectuals, counterterrorism experts and faith-literate Muslims' discount this plain spoken and honest woman at their own risk, she offers what many of us believe is only option to the inevitable war with islam, that option being a swift and thorough enlightenment and modernization of the islamic ideology, started by the silent majority of modern muslims.
Irshad's rheumatoid arthritis has temporarily sidelined her book tour, but I hope she'll be back on the road soon. You and your 'way smarter than the rest of us' pals better pay attention to her message - Westerners are starting to doubt any good will ever come from your so-called 'religion of peace'.

Progressive Muslims Agree - Israel Will Remain

**UPDATE**
Irshad's book tour has been cancelled - she's fallen ill, exhausted - with a hx of rheumatoid arthritis she needs to rest and take care of herself.  Imagine having your passion extinguished by a painful and debilitating disease - Get Well Soon!

“The legitimacy of Israel's existence is non-negotiable.  Israel is a legitimate, Jewish majority state.  I applaud Israeli society for its diversity, freedom and commitment to universal human rights.”

There are so many things to love about Irshad Manji and her new book,
'Allah, Liberty and Love'.
Not the least is her committment to Moral Courage.  With frequent (and very relevant) quotes and references to Martin Luther King Jr, she asks hard questions of both muslims as well as christians, jews and atheists.  This could be my counter protest sign at the next Pali-rally - "If I accept your customs, how does that affect the way you treat the most vulnerable members of the group?"

She's cancelled her Toronto appearance, but I hope she's still attending here in Calgary on June 29.

An excellent discussion of Free Speech hosted here by Kyranus, with input from many members of the blogosphere.  Weigh in, or just enjoy and surf the links.
Here's my latest comment, in which I admit that I could be wrong (always a possibility) which is currently 'awaiting moderation'.    As is so often the case, a tip o' the hat to Mr BCF.
-- K, with all due respect, it’s your use of this particular CRTC regulation in this particular incident that is a weak argument. It’s like you calling 911 because you find a beer can on you lawn in the morning. If the cops come out to your house at all, the nicest thing they’ll do is laugh at you.
Nobody is going to afford you any credibility for alleged ‘crimes’ that are as silly as the one you accuse Ezra of committing. The shred of credibility you retain erodes and disappears completely when you descend to name calling and accusations of insanity.
It’s easy for me to defend free speech like yours when it’s so blatantly contradictory, please buff up your arguments and return with a more coherent and referenced response. I confess that my defence of freedom often includes the more obvious violations by followers of the islamic ideology, which are published in the newspapers. To me, those are REAL CRIMES, but perhaps it’s truly lazy of me to use the grotesque examples such as the UBC professor Rumana Mansur who went home to Pakistan and had her nose bitten off and her eyes gouged and blinded by her jealous husband.
http://www.thedailystar.net/newDesign/news-details.php?nid=191023
I’d really like your opinion on Mark Steyn’s latest on Free Speech at the Institute of Public Affairs, where he suggests it is the responsibility of the accuser to justify his or her demand for state power to be used to shut down speech they don’t like.

Vancouver rioters busted

This behavior will never happen again, not after social media has finished focusing the rage of individual Canadians. - Here's my letter to waterpolo canada, one of several similar letters written to employers, sponsors and educators involved with the criminals of the Vancouver riot.

Dear Deanna Barry, (www.waterpolo.ca)

These are difficult days for your organization, no doubt the recent publicity has already damaged the reputation of this terrific sport.  I have watched competitions on more than one occasion at the Talisman Centre here in Calgary, and played on an intramural level many years ago.

What happened in Vancouver was completely unacceptable, the thought that more than one elite athlete from a privileged community of students was so involved is shocking.

Your responsibility, as members of a national organization which represents Canada around the world, is to protect the reputation of the sport, it's players, and all Canadians.  I don't have to detail here your code of conduct from page 38 of your Board Policies, suffice to say that Nathan Kotylk has contravened most of them with his actions last week in Vancouver.

Allowing Nathan Kotylk to continue playing will further tarnish the sport of water polo, worse still, it will set the example for other young athletes that this type of behavior can be conducted without consequence.  Watching his public display of remorse and the reading of his prepared statement of guilt has done nothing to lessen my resolution in this matter.

I hope that your organization takes swift and corrective action in this matter.  Censuring Nathan Kotylk, suspending him from play for at least two years, removing his name from the roster for Olympic tryouts, and encouraging him the seek counselling and make restitution for the crimes he's committed would be an appropriate beginning.

The fans, other athletes and their parents, your many sponsors, provincial partners, Sport Canada and Canadians are no doubt watching to see what your actions in this matter will be.

Sincerely,

Irshad Manji - 'Allah, Liberty and Love'

Can you stand by while 'cultural relativists' permit the erosion of your freedom?

Do you think as an individual first, or as part of a group?

Will you listen, and then speak up?

Do you have 'moral courage'?

CASHRA 2011 - Calgary Conference

If you felt safer, more secure and fairly treated here in Calgary this week - no surprise.Your human rights 'protectors' were in town - meeting and eating, fussing and discussing all the better ways to spread their version of love around.
Important plenary sessions such as:
Halal and Hate Crimes, is there a (sausage) link?
Immigrants or Aboriginals, who's got more shiny beads?
Religious accomodation at work, does TGIF count?

The CASHRA conference objective?
"To meet, network and engage with people from across Canada who have common interests and goals related to human rights, diversity and inclusion."

I'm sure you'll agree, that's worth the over $200 million of your tax dollars spent each year on this crowd.  Ezra and Kathy expose how rediculous these commissions are . . .... again.

In Defence of Free Speech

Lars Hedegaard’s Address
to a Meeting of Die Freiheit in Kiel, June 11, 2011

"Unfortunately, a growing number of people in our Western societies – and particularly in our governments, in our universities, in the press and among church leaders – think that free speech has become a burden. That it is an affront to the sort of decent and well behaved society they prefer.
. . ... According to our ruling elites, any criticism of Islam or of unfettered immigration or of the growing trend in our Western countries towards parallel societies should be seen as racism."

We live at a time when free speech is under the heaviest attack we have experienced since the Nazis tried to impose their absolutist rule two generations ago.

But . . ... muslim isn't a race!

Hey, muslim isn't a race.  I said, MUSLIM ISN'T A RACE!
For crying out loud . ...
Nazi's weren't a 'race',
and neither were communists a 'race'.
Nobody cared if the mufti of jerusalem was an arab,
he was a muslim, and a nazi.

Islam is an ideology, not a race.
It's not a 'religion', and definitely not a 'race'.
Google it!  'muslim is not a race'.
The Calgary Herald article is a joke.
From the title, to the weak ending.
this isn't journalism, it's a joke,

Muslim Pledge of Allegiance

From the website "My Fellow American" - It's a lovely website, (I've sent a request for information about their funding) and I was asked by Elizabeth Potter of Unity Productions Foundation to submit a review of the 'teaser video'.  There's also an invitation to 'Take the Pledge', which goes as follows:
Muslims are our fellow Americans. They are part of the national fabric that holds our country together. They contribute to America in many ways, and deserve the same respect as any of us. I pledge to spread this message, and affirm our country’s principles of liberty and justice for all.

Then you just have to hit the 'SUBMIT' button . . ... no surprise.
Here's an idea, how about MUSLIMS take a pledge?
It would go something like this:

"As Muslims we are part of this Western Culture and it's beliefs are our own.  We pledge to contribute to the 'Success of the West', and to earn the respect of those who do not share our faith.  As a Western Muslim, I pledge to:
1. Renounce violence done in the name of Islam.
2. Renounce polygamy.

3. Accept women as equals in society.
4. Accept the separation of church and state.
5. Renounce 'Honor Killings' of family members.
6. Accept non-muslim visitors in open mosques.
7. Renounce all Jihadi and Islamic terror groups.
I pledge to spread this message, and SUBMIT to Western democratic principals of liberty and justice under the rule of law."

It's also not too much to ask that they quit fuckin' whining about dogs and liquor.  What else would you add to the pledge?

While I personally have no problem at all with muslims, I believe that islam is a primitive ideology suitable only for practice by depraved savages, no matter what home culture they reside in.  Unless islam goes through some sort of reformation or enlightenment, it is doomed to fail it's followers.  I do not believe it is even possible to avoid the eventual war with Islam, as Robert Spencer points out,
There's a reason why muslim cultures lag behind.

I am here because of what I have said. I am here for having spoken. I have spoken, I speak and I shall continue to speak. Many have kept silent, but not Pim Fortuyn, not Theo Van Gogh, & not I.

I am obliged to speak. For the Netherlands is under threat of Islam. As I have argued many times, Islam is chiefly an ideology. An ideology of hatred, of destruction, of conquest. It is my strong conviction that Islam is a threat to Western values, to freedom of speech, to the equality of men and women, of heterosexuals and homosexuals, of believers and unbelievers.

All over the world we can see how freedom is fleeing from Islam. Day by day we see our freedoms dwindle. Islam is opposed to freedom. Renowned scholars of Islam from all parts of the world agree on this. My witness experts subscribe to my view. There are more Islam scholars whom the court did not allow me to call upon to testify. All agree with my statements, they show that I speak the truth. That truth is on trial today. We must live in the truth, said the dissidents under Communist rule, because the truth will set us free. Truth and freedom are inextricably connected. We must speak the truth because otherwise we shall lose our freedom.

It's just a little shoe store . . ...

. . ... that stocks a product from Israel.  A couple of footwear styles that account for about 2% of their total sales.
On Saturday May 20, 300 crazy anti-Israel supporters showed up and ruined this family's business for the day.  Their choice of this 'soft target' is typical of the cowardly jihadi style.  Their self loathing is evident, as they parade and chant in front of a successful small business - an example of a freedom and achievement they themselves are to stupid and lazy to achieve.
This isn't the first time the store has been attacked.
There are two small stores in Calgary that also stock an Israeli made shoe product.  They may or may not take the same principaled stand that Yves Archambault has made for his clients at Le Marcheur, a St-Denis St. store specializing in walking shoes.
It's only a matter of time before the same situation occurs here.  These protests, ignored by the police and the public, bring us closer to another 'Kristallnacht' - and we'll all be forced to fight for our very survival.

Watch Benjamin Netanyahu’s epic speech before Congress again.

Brian Lilley - Holding Media Accountable

Every single day, Brian Lilley holds the MSM accountable on his show BYLINE.

From their soft stance on islamic terrorists, to the CBC et al wasting $3.75 million of your tax dollars on the 'Mulroney Opera'.   These two highlighted links are for portions of Brian's show exactly one month apart - two of my favourites, both exposing the MSM for the liberal sheep they are.

Brian Lilley is worth watching on Sun TV, worth recording, worth watching again.

CBC - Lies by Omission and Spin

What are lies by omission?
Telling her husband she 'went out', when she were really 'out playing the VLT's.'
Telling her boss she 'worked all weekend' when she was 'working on her resume.

Lies, Lies of Omission, and Damn Lies . . ... they're all the same, and that's what the CBC tells Canadians.  That's what your state broadcaster, the federally funded agency that works for you, the group of so-called journalists who by their work would be more likely found working in Russia or China, except for an accident of birth that made them Canadian citizens.

On May 19 a reporter from CBC attended the 'Arabic Language & Culture Program' open house in Calgary, and she lied repeatedly.  She lied by not showing you the truth of who was there, what was said, and obscuring the history of the issues surrounding islamic culture.

I was there.  I can tell you that 90% of the women there wore full islam dress including hijab - yet the only picture on the story was of a woman named 'Alex Poole', a 'barely arab' looking woman with her hair uncovered.  There are no doubt 'justifications' for this exclusive view, 'rationalizations' that the woman reporter made for her lies of omission, for spinning the story the way she did.  Maybe her intentions were, to her at least, honorable.  Maybe she just wanted to see the 'good' in everything she saw that night, she looked very young and pretty, maybe that's all she's capable of seeing.

But maybe she was told by her bosses to spin this into a fluff piece.  To cover up anything that might make the viewers 'uncomfortable' - like a picture of a room full of committed islamists taking the first steps to creating a madrassa within our Calgary Public Education system.  If that's the case, then she's no longer a journalist, but an agent of the state, working for a propoganda department, a tentacle of the state.  She's certainly not a 'civil servant' who works for you or me.

It's apparant to me this CBC 'reporter' ('spinner' is a more accurate term) swallowed whole the hollow excuses put forward for the public funding of this islamic program.  A thinly desguised program put forth as a remedy for 'the poor arab children who are overwhelmed with English'.   How awful for them!  English everywhere!  My favorite line in the piece is more of a doomsday prophecy than the average reader, or even this dhimmi reporter, might realize.

"Down the road when they are having a career – and likely it could be in the oil and gas industry in Alberta – having Arabic as a language that you can communicate with would definitely be an asset for your child."   Read that again, and picture Alberta as an islamic state under sharia law.  It's perhaps more accurate than you first thought.

islamic seed planted . . ...

. ... we've all seen how this movie ends.

On the day Sassy writes about a radical Wahhabi 'educational consultant' being hosted by the islamic institute of Toronto, we get to witness the seeds of a new Arabic bilingual program being nurtured in the Calgary Public School System.  The irony is not lost.

It was an accident I was even paying attention enough to catch the notification of tonight's meeting.  Thank goodness for 'Google alerts'.  It was a master stroke on the part of the CBE to issue the required press release once, quietly, just a week before the event.  It's entirely possible it's the 'regular stroke' the CBE gives us taxpayers . . ... but I digress.  The info published on the CBE website is exactly the same as the info for any other bilingual program - they must think it's OK to compare islam to spanish and french, when it's really more like comparing rat poison to chocolate milk.

I arrived early, prepared with my 2 page presentation  . ... to a cafeteria with 6 'information stations' manned (sorry, staffed) by Board staffers to answer my questions. There was no formal presentation or Q&A session.  One question into the 1st station, I'm getting the "Maybe you should talk to someone else who knows more . ..." pass off speech.  So off we go to see 'Da Boss' - being a bureaucracy there were two to choose from.  With a nod from one and a head tilt from the other (I really wish I was kidding) I was soon discussing my concerns with David Stevenson, Deputy Chief Superintendent.

As we talked, the room filled with  . . ... what, Dolphins?  Hobbits?  Arabs?  No, muslims.  Who else wants to be in an Arabic bilingual program in Cowtown?  Of the 50 women there, 45 wore hijab.  I looked over and saw Calvin Davies, (insert fancy title here) of the CBE having a laugh with several of the muslim men.  Like a high school dance, or mosque, the men and women stayed very, very separate.
David was very professional, explaining to me that his opinion was 'the board's opinion', and that was the only one he was going to provide me.

We discussed my concerns regarding islamic instruction, I found out a little bit about the process and learned about the 'integrity document'.  This is a letter the islamists are willing to sign promising not to inject any religious instruction into the Arabic language program.  David assured me that the board has a great deal of experience dealing with 'other religions' and that he was confident they could handle this group too.  I'm told him I was concerned he had no idea what's coming by allowing this to go forward, and that Islam is not like anything else we've ever encountered here in the West.  He nodded and looked at me like I was speaking Arabic.  He accepted a copy of my presentation, assuring me it would be 'considered'.  How very kind.

I am convinced, like everywhere else in the world where islam has been permitted to flourish, it will take over here in Calgary. This ideology is nothing like your Spanish, Chinese or German bilingual programming, and I believe their 'integrity document' will soon be dismissed, undermined and overridden by an increasingly vocal and demanding arabic/islamist populace.  Calvin tried to reassure me that there was both a private islamic school as well as a charter islamic school already in Calgary, at least these children would be in the public education system . .... he looked right at me, with an earnest and well intentioned look in his eye as he said it.  Very sincere.  Very dhimmi.

There were over a dozen members of the Calgary Board of Education in attendance there tonight, not one of whom could have been mistaken for either Arabic or muslim.  We silly 'western culture enthusiasts' have made another serious mistake tonight by allowing this to happen, and it's no comfort at all that the same mistake has been made by democracies around the world over the last 30 years.  Even David admitted that 30 years from now, it might be proved that I was correct.  Small comfort.

The only media there tonight was the CBC, (Global sent a cameraman later, when I asked him which reporter was attending with him, he said he'd been sent 'last minute' and was only shooting file footage).  I'll update with vids later - not that it'll be all that revealing.  Google 'day at the Cairo bazaar' - it'll look the same.

I forgot to mention those in attendance who weren't profiled by myself as 'obviously islamists'.  There were 4.  Out of 250 people . . ... only 4 . ... and two people from the CBC - talk about doesn't count. The phrase 'people get the government they deserve' comes to mind.

Our only hope, is that they get a 'Bad Teacher'.  Damn, that would be funny.  Failing that, it's not going to be funny at all.

Allen West for President of the United States of America

This is the way to save Western Culture.

Calgary Board of Education Proposed Arabic Language and Culture Programming Open House

Calgary Board of Education
Proposed Arabic Language and Culture
Programming Open House May 19, 2011
5:30 pm – 7 pm Central Memorial – 5111 21 St. S.W.
There are far more reasons not to host Arabic language and culture programming in Calgary Public Schools than there are for it’s inclusion.

First and most compelling are the ties that instruction in Arabic would have to Islamic ideology. There is no reason for us to risk supporting islamic views in our public school system, views that run completely counter to our western culture and traditions. I realize that with the above statement, many will accuse me of racism – however nothing could be further from the truth. While Arabic is a race, islam is most certainly not, and while the distinction is important, the two are historically very closely related.

Within our own country and around the world, groups of Islamic idealists are attempting to subvert our western values with the values of their Arabic home countries. From the UK to the Netherlands, in Germany, France and Australia, islamic fundamentalists of Arabic descent preach hatred and contempt for kaffirs, or non-believers. We cannot allow these groups a foothold here in our public education system. While some teachers may support the idea of ‘cultural relativism’, I don’t believe that the Arab culture is superior or even equal in any way, shape or form to our western Judeo-Christian culture and belief system.

This past February in Winnipeg's Louis Riel School Division, a dozen muslim immigrant families demanded changes to the curriculum to accommodate their fundamentalist view of Islam. The families don't want boys and girls in the same classes, such as physical education, and they don’t want any music taught to their muslim children, period.

Winnipeg School Superintendents says the families are "adamant' about this, despite both phys-ed and music being compulsory. How would Calgary teachers, who are already short staffed, handle any similar request for gender separation in gym? How long before islamic parents can "adamantly" demand no female teachers for their sons – or that headscarves for girls be required?

In the U.K. in 2007, some schools stopped teaching the Holocaust because it contradicted the anti-Semitic views held by "adamant" families there. The history of the Crusades was dropped too, because the "balanced" approach taken by schools contradicted what the local mosques were teaching. And in 2008, schools in Bristol yanked gay-friendly books out of libraries when Muslim parents complained.

I SUPPORT PUBLIC EDUCATION, and there are far too many legitimate concerns with our funding of inclusive education for all Calgary children to further divide this limited budget to include any instruction in Arabic culture. An April 19, 2011 CBE press release announced plans to cut 324 jobs this fall due to budget restraints, these cuts are on top of the 172 support position cuts announced in March.

Alberta Education has failed to deal with the group ‘Parents for Public Education’ - a group representing hundreds of parents who have reneged on their school fees for the past eight years, saying the up to $132-per-child charge is unlawful. Would the political will exist to deal with issues of inappropriate islamic teaching and curriculum if it were to become an issue?

Last month parents of public school students in Calgary learned that second language classes will no longer be mandatory in Grades 4 through 9, starting in the next school year. French and other languages will still be offered as an option in Grades 7 through 9, but schools with students in Grades 4 through 6 will decide whether to offer a second language, and which one to offer. Does it make any sense to stop teaching one of Canada’s two official languages, while at the same time offering classes in another unofficial one?

There is already the Edmonton Islamic School Society, operating as the Edmonton Islamic Academy, that last year received $3,473,000.00 from Alberta taxpayers (Canada Revenue Agency - Schedule 6: Detailed Financial Information). That’s 3 1/2 million dollars of my tax money to a school that has just recently been linked to the World Islamic Call Society based in London Ontario. That group had their charitable status revoked last week by the Canadian Government, because they’ve been caught transferring money here in Canada from Libyan Leader Moammar Gadhafi to the bank accounts of known islamic terrorists.

I don’t believe there is any single good reason to approve spending Calgary Public Tax Dollars on Arabic language and culture teaching. I believe I’ve outlined the risks clearly here. Unless all of you here petitioning for the effort can show me your fingers aren’t crossed, that you’re not practicing taqiyyah (ISLAMIC def: Concealing or disguising one's beliefs, convictions, ideas, feelings, opinions, and/or strategies) and say,
“We’re all modern Arabs here in Calgary, who don’t want sharia law, we know that Islam is a not a ‘religion of peace’, that the burqua is a symbol of opression, that gay men and women will be welcome in these arabic classes, that crucifixs’ can be worn, that the Holocaust really happened, that the Crusades were a defensive war against islamic invaders, and that Israel has every right to exist.”

Only then can we begin a discussion on the value to Canadians of an Arabic cultural education.

Is Alberta funding Terrorism?

An open letter to my MLA - Dave Taylor.

Hi Dave,
Canada Revenue has revoked the charitable status of the World Islamic Call Society, a "charity" directly linked to Mouammar Gaddaffi. The revocation came in light of revelations that the charity was a front used to funnel funds to terrorists.

The World Islamic Call Society is directly related to the al Rashid Mosque and its subsidiaries in Edmonton, the Edmonton Islamic Academy.

This 'Academy' also does business as the Edmonton Islamic School Society - they share the same address - 14525 127 St, Edmonton Ab - T6V 0B3.

Dave, There is clearly a direct link between these organizations. According to their latest filing the Edmonton Islamic School Society received $3,473,000.00 in tax dollars from the citizens of Alberta.

So my 2 questions are these:
1.  Are my tax dollars here in Alberta being used to fund terrorism?
2.  Is this group related in any way to the push for Arabic language programming in Calgary Public Schools, and will you be at the 'Open House' at Central Memorial High School regarding this issue on May 19 from 5:30 - 7 pm?  Your prompt reply would be much appreciated.

It's about feeling safe when you go out for a walk, and feeling secure in letting your children out to play. Community allows us to leave this world a better place than we found it by combining our efforts through strength in numbers."  - Dave Taylor, Maiden Speech in the Alberta Legislature, March 9, 2005

Geert Wilders in Toronto

Some say you should live every day as if it were your last.  Geert Wilders has intimate knowledge of this viewpoint -  it's the reason the Dutch leader spends each day travelling with several bodyguards, and never sleeps in the same house two nights in a row.  Mr. Wilders appears to be a very brave man.  He's also a very thoughtful and intelligent politician.
An unpopular stance regarding islam has made him a big target around the muslim world.  The International Free Press Society brought Geert Wilders to Canada to share with us his views on Free Speech in his home country, and what has happened to his countrymen as a result of the islamic invasion.
I had the pleasure of meeting Geert Wilders on May 9 in Toronto, and what I remember most about that meeting is how relaxed and personable this man who 'rides the tip of the spear' was, amongst a roomful of journalists, activists and admirerers.  Blazing Cat Fur, Kathy Shaidle, Barbara Amiel, Meir Weinstein of the JDL - this was not an event to miss!  Jonathan Kay wrote an insightful article that gives no quarter to those who accuse Mr. Wilders of racism or xenophobia.  Enjoy Geert Wilders full on, just as if you were there, a remarkable experience.  Ezra Levant provided a terrific interview with Mr. Wilders, on his Sun TV show The Source.

I stopped by to visit the Ezra, (the man, the legend) at his shop - he's a terrific host, and I got a glimpse behind the scenes.  I got to meet and watch a well organized and dedicated Sun staff bring you the truth   .... Thanks Ezra!

Finally, a real highlight of the trip - lunch with the Toronto Press Club at the U of T Faculty Pub, with spirited and frank discussion of the event many of us had attended.  Hosted by the lovely Moira, I can recommend both the Seafood Cassarole and the Teriyaki Steak.  For an Alberta boy to recommend the steak at a pub in Toronto .  . ... well, it's gotta be good.  I'm looking forward to my next trip!

'The Economist' becomes a left wing rag

For those of you who see 'The Economist' as an in depth analysis of the world, look a little closer.  The May 7-13, 2011 issue (with Osama the dead terror-monkey on the cover) contains unsupported weak, leftist commentary in each of several successive articles.

To wit:
1.  In 'Now, kill his dream' - Bin Laden is referred to as 'A man who warped a faith', suggesting that islam isn't warped at all, it's just a victim of barbaric maniacs.  Yeah, right.
2.  In 'Nudge it along' - The West and Israel, for their own good, should encourage Palestinians (hamas & fatah) to get together.  They spout hope that hamas will change their blood thirsty ways during the beauty of the 'arab spring', that we should 'give unity a chance' as rejuvenated Egyptians may 'tease (the process) along'.  Good grief, they make it sound like a high school dance.
3.  In 'Harper leads into new territory' - The liberals are identified as 'a consensual centerist party with a dash of Euro social democracy' and identifies Quebec voting enmasse for NDP candidates with no talent or expectation of ever governing as people who 'now want to play a more constructive role in federal politics'.  Ha! That one made me almost fall off my chair.
4.  In 'Harper's champagne moment' our new prime minister is identified as 'a stiff, cold figure', and Iggy (the loser) as 'a writer and academic'.  They state that Harper is 'unlikely to curb carbon emissions . . . from Alberta, with it's carbon-belching tar sands' - then they follow up with the usual fear-mongering about a 'secret agenda' that we only ever hear from the liberal far-left.  It struck me funny that Harper actually IS an Economist, and 'The Economist' finds it difficult to say anything good about him.
5.  In 'Toddle to the top' they wail that in the US 'state pre-school spending has decreased almost $700 per child' - from 2001 - down to what still amounts to over $4000.00 for each 3 - 4 year old enrolled in pre-school.  For someone like me, who never sent any of his kids to frikkin' pre-school, I'm wondering where my share of this tax funded largesse for little liberals went.

The not-so-subtle liberal undertone is there in almost every single article, it's enough to make you open a window and hurl the magazine as far as you can - in my case not far, as the only reason I bought it was for something to read on the plane from Toronto.  Still, the couple coming home from Jamaica in the seats in front of me no doubt believe I'm cursed with Tourette's from the muttered expletives I expelled until I put the damn rag down.  When I found this Jokes about Economists link, I felt better.

Research shows conservatives’ value on personal autonomy make them less likely to be influenced by others

Just until I get the material from my Geert Wilders / Ezra Levant event organized, here's something to chew on . . ...
Research shows conservatives’ value on personal autonomy make them less likely to be influenced by others.
Well, Duh . ...
Meanwhile, liberal 'sheeple' tend to follow 'gaze clues' more easily - indicating that biology may play a significant role in whether someone is a conservative or conversely, unlikely to think for themselves.
*NB - For liberals who may find the whole article longer than they're attention span, here's a shorter version.

Not Everyone Loves Geert Wilders

Only days after after London, England was branded a major grooming city for Al-Qaeda, hundreds of Muslim protesters carrying placards proclaiming ‘Islam will dominate the world’, surrounded the US embassy in the U.K., branding US leaders ‘murderers’ and warning that vengeance attacks were ‘guaranteed’ for the killing of Osama bin Landen.

Now Geert Wilders, the  Dutch parliamentarian who has famously said that he does not hate Muslims but that he does hate Islam, will be speaking in Canada.  Dr Liyakat Takim, Sharjah Chair in Global Islam at McMaster University says, “I’m astonished he’s coming, to be honest.  This is not a discussion. He is spreading hatred toward Islam and his comments are nothing short of inflammatory."
Muslims are upset that Mr. Wilders has been invited by a 'private group', and that the event is 'closed'.  But wait a minute.

These muslims ignore the fact that their own 'private events' in mosques around the country every friday are 'closed' - and that recent Wikileaks evidence written by U.S. military chiefs, list the Al Sunnah Al Nabawiah mosque in Montreal among nine so called 'houses of prayer' worldwide considered as a place ‘Al Qaeda members were recruited, facilitated or trained’.  The classified documents claim the mosque’s former Imam and current Guantanamo inmate, Mohamedou Ould Salahi, was the leader of the Canadian-based Al Qaeda cell.

Wow, if any event should be 'open', it should be Friday afternoons at the 'Al Noodles Mosque' in Montreal!

These muslims also ignore the fact that whenever events such as these, where the truth is spoken about islam by knowledgeable, front line patriots, you radical islamists shout them down and disrupt the event.  Here's a thought, if muslims want 'open discussion' on their ideology, let them invite speakers and hold their own events.  When Ann Coulter was in Calgary she was confronted by a member of the audience who, rather than ask a question, decided to start speaking at the mike instead.  Ann simply said, "If you have a question, ASK IT. If you want to make a speech, rent a room like I did, and make it there."

That's the way it works here, muslims.  I'll have a bar-b-que and invite my friends, and no matter what we're going to talk about, you're not invited.  The IFPS will rent a room and invite their friends, they'll talk about islam, and you're not invited.  Every Friday, you muslims all meet in your ideology and indoctrination hall, and  . ... Surprise!  We're all not invited.

Geert Wilders is going to speak at a private event, and I'm invited . . ... and I've gotta tell you - I'm thrilled.  You muslims are not, and that's OK here in Canada.  There's nothing wrong with what the IFPS is doing, in fact, there will be accredited journalists and videographers there - so it'll be a much more transparent and honest event then any of the meetings you hold every friday at mosque.

In fact, frequently when video cameras are secretly used to record your muslim meetings, scandals follow.  Such as the 'Undercover Mosque' series. When cameras are secretly used to film your private schools, scandals follow.  Such as the 'Madrassa Beatings video.  I'd suggest you clean up your own backyard first, before you start telling your neighbors that the fence around their yard is too high.

This 'fence' around the IFPS event is just high enough, thank you.  It's what you would refer to here in Canada as 'regulation height'.  The restrictions on who can attend this event featuring Geert Wilders are very much like a fence - yes, they're designed to keep you out.
Just like a bar-b-que in my own yard, just like the fence around Buckingham Palace, just like the fence around your mosque - the restrictions are designed to keep some people who aren't wanted from attending a legally sanctioned event being held on a piece of legally held private property.

OK, your feelings are hurt because you're not invited.  Tell me about it, brother!  I was deeply hurt that I wasn't invited to the Royal Wedding - I'm actually a fan of the Royal Family, and Ezra Levant pointed out last week on his show that the Monarchy provides a real stability that supports Western Democracy.  I just wanted to smile and wave, not disrupt the event like the the Muslims against Crusades.  But I understand the rules here in our western democracies, there's a fence, I'm not invited, that's it.
So, it's clear that I understand how you muslims feel, you're not invited, you're not welcome . . ... I get it.  Tell you what, if you ask me nicely, I'll send you a video link of the event.  I understand that if the Conservatives manage to pass Bill C-51 that I could be taking a big risk (up to 2 years in jail) by sending a hyperlink of what you whiners might consider a hate speech event - but I'm willing to take the chance.  Now, as the EDL would say in the UK, "Sod off"!
