Calgary High School Students attempt mock Palestine protest

Planned anti-Israel demonstration by kids club halted.
Just another Palestinian use of children as human shields.

The amnesty club at Calgary's Western Canada High School had planned to hold a mock roadblock event to portray their perceived Israeli oppression of the Palestinian people.  Amnesty International, blamed for encouraging the students, in turn blamed 'the Jooooos'.

March 30 - Buy Israeli Goods Day!

Several times a year, groups claiming to 'support palestine' attempt to do so by encouraging Canadians to boycott retail outlets that either sell goods made in Israel, or support Israel in other ways.  They think they know better than you where you should be allowed to spend your money.  In the past, they've boycotted Mountain Equipment Co-op and various stores selling Israeli made shoes.
This month, their target is Indigospirit Books and Music Inc.  In Calgary, the SPHR (based on campus at the University of Calgary) will be protesting outside the downtown location on Stephen Avenue Mall, near 7 Avenue and 4 Street S.W.

For one hour starting at noon, they'll attempt to persuade lunchtime shoppers not to buy anything from this store.  They'll stand outside with their signs, wearing red and black clothing, some with their keffiyeh (black/white terror scarf) around their necks.

What is Indigospirits crime?  The owners use their own money to provide HESEG foundation scholarships to 'Lone Soldiers', who are non-Israeli-born Jews without family in Israel who go to the country to serve in the Israeli Defence Force.  HESEG foundation also provides air conditions to cool bomb shelters in neighborhoods at the greatest risk from rockets fired from Gaza by Hamas terrorists.
Make no mistake, these people are trying to intimidate Calgarians, both those who work at the store as well as those who support them, into believing that we who support Israel are criminals.  The staff, the authors whose work they sell, and the other retailers in the mall don't want anything to do with them.

In a free market, companies advertise unique products or services, employ earnest and knowledgeable employees and spend many hours designing comfortable and accessible store locations.  Indigospirit has done all of those things, and they employ thousands of people who enjoy working there, and count on the paycheck they receive to pay their bills.  Now a group of pampered and misguided youth from the local university funded campus group are going to leave their tax funded shelter and attempt to disrupt the livelihood of our neighbors and friends.  All because they don't agree with how a successful private Canadian citizen chooses to spend their own hard-earned money in Israel, the only real and true democracy in the entire Middle East.  (ht BCF)

So if you're available today from noon 'till one, come on down to Indigospirit on 8th Avenue SW, just east of 4 Street - buy a book, support local commerce, support freedom - support Israel.

JDL protest at Palestine House

The video gives a short history of who and what 'Palestine House' really is.
After the slaughter of the Fogel family in Itamar, in the West Bank of Israel this month, the JDL chose to protest Palestine House, one of the many islamic front organizations here in Canada.  Palestinians handed out candy in the streets of Gaza the next day, celebrating the deaths of this family.

The Canadian Government has reaffirmed many times their support for Israel.  Who are the islamists where you live?

Leading Israeli scientists will receive Canada Gairdner awards

Prestigious international honor considered possible predictor of Nobel Prize.

Howard Cedar, M.D., Ph.D. and Aharon Razin, Ph.D. are among five outstanding researchers who will arrive in Toronto in October to receive the awards.  Both Cedar and Razing are members of the Hebrew University Institute for Israel-Canada Medical Research.

The closest most of us ever get to hanging out with real genius' is watching 'Big Bang Theory'.  Canadians are very fortunate to be able to work with such intelligent and committed scientists.

Israeli 'Go Time'

After enduring repeated rocket attacks and last weeks murder of a rural family,

a murder that prompted the 'Koranimals' of Gaza to hand out candy in the streets,

todays bus station bombing and more rocket attacks on southern Israel,

have prompted Prime Minister Netanyahu to delay a planned trip to Moscow,

and  . . ... what do you think is going to happen?

Karzai: "Please stop killing our children . ..."

". ... and come for tea"
Afghan president urges Taliban not to burn schools but to join peace talks
"Come and take part in elections. Nominate your name for the presidency or for the parliament. Like anyone, you can win and get votes.”  (ht BCF)

Sometimes Karzi wants the West to leave, sometimes he wants us to stay.  At present, only 4 out of 10 Afghan kids go to school.  If you're an Afghan kid and you can read and write, don't just thank a teacher - thank a soldier.

Send an Easter Greeting to your local mosque

Cadbury allows you to launch an 'Easter Creme Egg' directly at your local mosque.
I enjoyed the feel good splat of goo at 'Islamic Centre, Calgary, Alberta'.
You can also score a direct hit on '3195 Erindale Station Road, Mississauga, Ontario'
I love the Canada Goose flying by your Cadbury Egg Bomb while it's enroute!
What's your local target?

Sarah Palin makes sense . ... again.

The UN “no-fly zone” imposed over Libya is working – and it's not only without precedent but puts in formal terms exactly what Governor Sarah Palin stated three weeks ago should have been America’s response to the political and humanitarian crisis now unfolding there.

Pam Geller at 'Alas Shrugs' says it best: "Sarah Palin overwhelms me. She does everything right and decent and good. It is no coincidence that she is right on every issue. Energy, small government, economics, foreign policy -- she nails it.   She is an extraordinary American, and the more they try to insult and demean her, the larger she looms. I pray she runs -- I really do. She could turn this hot mess around -- I believe few could, but she can."

Governor Palin and her family are in Israel today, touring historic sites before joining Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and his wife Sara at their official residence in Jerusalem for dinner.

CBC 'A s*it Happens' - Part of the 'Stealth Jihad'

Pop on over to their home page, enjoy one-sided interviews and loopy-left hand-wringing!  This isn't journalism.  Don't expect the truth, or any 'fair and balanced' coverage from your national broadcaster.  Your tax money pays the salary of civil servants who just delete whatever coverage and opinion they don't like.
'CBC loses the Jihad trail', distracted by the notion that 'all cultures are equal, and need to be respected' - even those that hate us and are determined to destroy our western civilization.  The CBC has an ombudsman (currently Kirk LaPointe, who can be reached at ombudsman@cbc.ca or by phone @ (416) 205-2978) who needs to hear from you, so does your Member of Parliment.

3 Movies in a Row

 . . ... on a Friday night!
Right after Shareef Abdelhaleem gets life in prison for his part in the Toronto 18 terror plot, it's a perfect night to sit down and watch:
Unthinkable  ch55 - MC1
 102 Minutes  ch110 - DOCUM
Stoning  ch55 - MC1

How can there be anyone left who doesn't understand who the enemy is?  How can there be anyone left who doesn't believe we're at war?

Good News / Bad News Friday

Good News!
British Government Cuts U.N. Funding  About time, too.  Hey Canada and the U.S. - Pay Attention!

Bad News . ...
Iran officially a member of the U.N. Commission on the Status of Women  Your Canadian tax dollars pay for 'Being a Canadian Muslim Woman in the 21st Century' - that's how the multi-cult leftists of Citizenship and Immigration Canada's Multicultural Program celebrate International Women's Day.
p.s. - For those of you with a shorter memory than, say, a gerbil - this is the same U.N. that elected Libya to the Human Rights Council only 9 months ago . . ... and didn't reverse itself until today, suspending Libya's membership.
